Kent Youth Dance Company (KYD) is the fulfilment of a long term vision, to give the talented dancers of Kent the opportunity to be coached by and then perform with current professional dancers from major companies. It is unique in that it’s summer course & productions include not only excerpts from the famous classical ballets but also original choreography in jazz, contemporary and tap.

They are given the opportunity to experience pas de deux and double work not to mention the feeling of being part of a “real” company for 2 weeks. It is an inspiring and fulfilling experience for all concerned.

The progress and achievements are often remarkable. The intensity of the course means that they are receiving the equivalent of 6-12 months class work in just 2 weeks. Teachers whose pupils have taken part have been impressed by the renewed enthusiasm and improvements in technique, performance and confidence
